Hello world!

I have been wanting to devise a system based around Lisa Whelchel’s book “The Busy Mom’s Guide to Prayer” for a while now.  I think I will start here and you can join me if you like.  She suggests that you  break your prayers into categories for each day.  I like this idea and find that it is something I can definetely do.  If I can’t do it all in one sitting, I can separate it out into a couple of categories.   Everyday you start out glorifiying God and praising one of His attributes, then you pray for yourself, next for husband, then children, and people that personally influence you and lastly a “reaching beyond” prayer.  You can personalize this so much and really use it as a guide to keep you focused.  The fervent prayer of the righteous man availeth much……

Day 1 –

Praise – Holiness …..There is no one holy like the Lord, indedd there is no one besides You. (I Samuel 2:2)

Self – Wisdom ….If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generoulsy to all without reproach, and it will be given him.  James 1:5.

Husband – Priorities…..But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you . Matthew 6:33.

Children- Siblings….Finally, all of you be of one mind, having compassion for one another; love as brothers, be tenderhearted, be courteous; not returning evil for evil or reviling for reviling, but on the contrary blessing, knowing that you were called to this, that you may inherit a blessing (I Peter 3:8-9)

Personal Influences – Pastor…..Shepherd the flock of God which is among you, serving as overseers, not by compulsion but willingly, not for dishonest gain but eagerly. (I Peter 5:2)

Reaching Beyond….The President….The king’s heart is in the hand of the Lord, like the rivers of water, He turns it wherever He wishes.  (Proverbs 21:1)

Using this as a guide I will pray for each of these areas…..Lisa has some pre-scripted prayers in her book that are really great .

Until next time……

I will lift mine eyes to hills from whence does my help come? My help cometh from the Lord…………..Psalm 121 1-2
